hello every body ...have been a hen keeper for a year now ..ive got mixed flock of 3 hybrids plymoth rock rooster with rhode island momma,cuckoo maran ,lone star and 1 blue splash Orpington Maisie and my own hatched girl Marilyn ,Wyandotte :sunny:

Welcome. Lots of information here. I found this forum immensely helpful prior to setting up and obviously since our girls arrived nearly two years ago.

thanks for welcomes sorry about tardy reply :))been hectic few weeks .Two questions to put out ther ..one ..I have a Wyandotte I incubated and hand reared her but she always has messy back end she had sticky bum when she was a few days old which wasn't aproblem the but now shes the size of a goose its hard to wash her her droppings see m quite loose although she has same diet as other hens ??and what are anyones experience of Australorps ..got chance of a couple next week to add to my small mixed flock : :)

Since the Wyandotte is obviously tame, deal with her grotty bum under a running outside tap. Also worm her if you haven't already done so - a long shot, but worth trying.
Astralorps are wonderful birds - less fluffy and far better layers than orpingtons, but easily as friendly.
Guinea fowl & a lot of surplus poultry equipment.

wormed already Marilyn prone to mucky bum excess fluffy bottom ..im going to look at her rels and talk to guy I got incubated egg off xx

Sometimes it can help if you trim some "frilly knickers" away - same with Orpingtons in particular I find. :roll:
