small eggs

just wondered why my chickens are laying small eggs.just started laying, but the speckaldy has layed 4 now and they are all small. my previous chickens all layed normal sized eggs.now my black tail has layed a small egg, any suggestions?

Pullet eggs or birds coming back into lay are often small.

thanks, i did wonder, it's just the last ones weren't small.

Each individual hen can be different. Two of my young Orpingtons have just started to lay - one has laid normal sized eggs from the start, the other is still laying pigeon size eggs over a week later :)

My Legbars have just come into lay and produced normal sized eggs for over a week and then one left a Pigeon sized egg. All normal now
2 x Buff Orpington's, 1 x Wheaton Maran, 1 x Welsummer's, 1 x Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 x Cream Legbar's, 2 x Light Sussex, 2 X Cuckoo Maran's, 2 X Copper Black Maran's .
2 x Labrador's (chocolate)

Better to have them lay small eggs at first than a big whopper that's going to sting a bit.
