New pattern shock!

Post by crazypianolady » 21 Jan 2012, 18:37

I'm not saying it's a long time since I bought knitting/crocheting patterns..........but........... My first new one in decades arrived today, so I got my coloured pencils out ready to mark the various sizes. Only to see they're already in different colours!

Can you recommend some easy patterns or a good website or book, please? I can do basic stitches, but that's about all. I'd like to branch out a bit from scarves and squares!
Oh and well done and good luck with the new pattern!

I asked a similar question, and kated told me about http://www.ravelry.com Thousands of patterns to choose from, and you can filter by difficulty level, free pattern, yarn type, etc.

I've also found this site http://www.purplelindacrafts.co.uk/index.asp which has the advantage of being this side the Atlantic - a lot of the Ravelry patterns use American terms, and I'm having fun and games trying to find a matching yarn.

Have fun!

Thank you. I'm trying to keep my hands busy at night so I'm not picking at food, or going on EBay! Need to lose weight and stop spending....have just bought some lovely wool from eBay however:grin:
