It's a bushy shrub about 3' high (it was taller but we pruned it about 2 months ago) bought around 5 years ago from a school fete plant stall with no ID label!

I just looked it up in my "The Botanical Garden" and it looks awfully like Acca. Here is the description: Trees to 3m or shrubs. The leaves are opposite, ovate, dilvery undrneath and evergreen. The flowers are solitary in the leaf axils. Sepals four, equal, reflexed, joined at the base only to form a tube; petals4 pinkish and spotted inside, white and hairy outside somewhat crinkled, reflexed. Stamens numerous, crimson, longer than the petals. If this looks right you have a guava!

Feijoa is the old name for Acca! Glad to see T&M are up to date as usual 
There are lots of cultivars grown for their fruit, known as Pineapple Guava. Perhaps someone grew this one from a pip?
It is just hardy in the UK despite coming from southern Brazil (up in the mountains). Warm, sheltered sunny place and it should flower and fruit for you year after year.

The flowers are really pretty but there's not that many of them this year. Hopefully the chickens will continue to leave it alone & maybe, just maybe, I'll get a fruit on it too!
