Bought the book "Choosing and Keeping Chickens by Chris Graham" at the weekend.

For a basic book about chicken keeping it's one of the best i've seen.
All the basic care/housing/health issues are dealt with in the first half. The second section has a good colour picture and then a brief synopsis containing most of the common chicken breeds.

Good book especially for novice back garden keepers.

Available through Amazon........just click on the Amazon link on the forum ;)

Hi Big D ,

I've got this one too and I think Chris Graham is the guy who runs the practical poultry magazine which is a great read (albeit a little over-priced). Do you know of any books which detail all the hybrid "breeds" , by any chance?

Yes you're right he's the boss man at PP.
I don't unfortunately. All the books I have seen just have a tiny bit at the back about hybrids :(

I find the book great - was it informative for you? I am a complete beginner so it spelt things out in layman's terms which I found was just what I needed.
