How old are the hens? Have you wormed them? Put a drop of garlic oil in there water. I wouldnt have thought their housing would stop them laying as OEG'S are renowned for laying anywhere, they may just be old hens and a little off colour. There not the best layers but you should get a good 100 or so...

Put some OEG's bantams in there they will stand up for themselves. Of course i'm biased as i keep them.

Ive kept OEG's for years ( bantams ) now and i highly recommend them, they can et very tame and have plenty of character. You get the odd feisty cock for sure. I'm actually looking for new stock, want to try a new colour, i got blacks at the moment. If any of you good people got any for sale or hatc...
