you can get the fencing cheap enough from ebay , local building sites .......... i dont bother sinking the wire in i lay some mesh on the floor all around the outside of the run to create an anti-dig skirt . i fix them together using metal jubilee clips or thick cable ties :)

hello all im thinking of putting plastic leg rings on this years young pullets about 17 weeks old , to keep a record and colour code them to what year they were born . they are large fowl various mums and cream legbar dad . what size do i need to buy ive seen so far 12mm , 16mm , 18mm , 22mm and on ...

for the run all our allotment neighbours and me use heras security fencing 3.5m x 2m , i use it for the roof as well they nothing can jump in .

or you could use herras metal fencing panels , ask at any building site for any for sale , quick , simple and strong :)

there was no stopping her from feather pecking im afraid tried isolation , spray , beak bits ............ everytime i re-introduced her to the others she would start again , took the sensible option and culled her , didnt want the habit spreading to the others :(

the young hens are in our kids playhouse and so have plenty room , ive seperated her for now but she can still see and communicate with the others , the others have no interest in feather pecking its just her that seems to have picked up this bad habit , im going to keep them apart for at least a we...
