They look pretty good to me in the bottom pic,they do tend to get that tanned colour as the year goes on especially if they are out free ranging and its a good year for sunshine,cocks with their lighter grey feathering do tend to take on a golden colour sheen on their back feathers too. Are cookoo marans suposed to turn golden/brown in the summer?
I bought 5 pol pure cookoo marans at end of last year an now they must be about 10 months old but there feathers are turning a rusty colour, is this suposed to happen or are they a mix?

Hi iv just hatched 11 BR turkeys which are now 1 week old, they are witn 12 hubard chick also a week old. When can i introduce veg/ grass. As i would like to hang some up to prevent them from getting board.

Spoke to a friend who lives with a vet an was told he should be ok if throwing up. I gave him some natural yogert with cayen peper mix in an hes seems ok this morning, thank god, so weird to see a duck throwing up. Wondered around the field an couldnt see any must have been just a small crop of them...

Please help my duck has been throwing up and in it are orange mushroom things. If hes thrown up will he require a vet if they are poisionus? I live in Shrophire Uk

Just rigged my nipple drinkers up in both my turkey coop and my chick brooder, to be honest i fixed up a bottle for both of then to see if they would use them which they did an very quickley, so iv now rigged up 7 nipples per coop with a water butt to feed all of them an removed there water trough.

Dont know about worms i didnt think of stopping them an having a look ill check it out tomorrow. They are like grease lightening when they smell/hear/see the 'right' poos to eat. Ill video it if i can a bit sick but mesmerizing.

Just been giving my turks there tablets, and watched them, some are doing firm poos, which is fine, some are doing semi soft/runny poos, which again i suposs is fine. But some are doing propper squits, which is very dark from what i could see, as as soon as that turkey squits all the others jump on ...

Theres no yellow or green poo, there is a few poops with blood in it, given the tablets by crushing them an adding a bit of water an shringing it in to them just gotta see what happens

They are 8 weeks old, iv been to vets an they have given me Metronidazole in tablet form as they think it could be blackhead. Which is going to be 'fun' has any one got any ideas on how to get them down there throats? As they are just slightly smaller than a one pence piece.
