Re: Worming one chicken

Thanks organic chick. Don't think the web site exists.

I wonder if it's worth buying Marriages medicated layers pellets and just let my girl eat them for a week?

Worming one chicken

Hi guys...it's been quite a while since I've been on this forum. Alot has happened. The main one is that I now have a 7 month old baby girl who has turned our world upside down (in a good way tho). Anyway, I only have one chicken. A pekin bantam. I haven't wormed her for a while and was just wonderi...

Re: OMG....how many times can one chicken go broody?

I do feel really bad as she would probably make a lovely mummy. I put Sweetpea in the naughty broody sin bin this morning. Usually takes her 4 to 5 days to snap out of it. Poor thing. Feel so bad

Re: OMG....how many times can one chicken go broody?

I would love to jillychick but have too much going on at the moment.

I'm 30wks pregnant, in the process of getting a kitchen fitted, still got baby stuff to buy.

I know these are all excuses but I really would get her some eggs to sit on if I wasn't pregnant (its my first baby).

Re: Least noisy small hen for pet?

My pekin is very noisy. Usually first thing in the morning if the magpies set her off or if a cat is near by.

Other than the odd out burst she is generally quite quiet.....clucking contently to herself. Could watch her for hrs.

Re: OMG....how many times can one chicken go broody?

If I wasn't pregnant, having building work done, no kitchen for another 3 wks, new kitchen being fitted then I would seriously consider getting some fertile eggs for Sweetpea. Touch wood she seems to have snapped out of her broody spell. For future reference what would be the best thing to do: Find ...

OMG....how many times can one chicken go broody?

As some of you know I just have the one chicken now. Sweetpea a pekin bantam. She is currently sat on the nest box being all naughty and broody. Letting out the occasional squawk of discontentment if I go outside. [-X This is the fourth time since she started laying in March/April time. Left her to ...

Re: First fox encounter..

Well Mr Fox has not been back. Certainly not in the daytime anyway. We have put slabs all around the inside perimeter of the enclosure and there are also slabs on one side of the outside of the enclosure. Enclosure has weld mesh on the inside of the structure and roof which is also covered with corr...
